Spyware: What it is - How To Detect & Protect Against It! |
| |
| |
SPYWARE HAS INFECTED OVER 80% OF ALL COMPUTERS |
This page is intended to raise awareness of the issue that certain companies are using software provided on their websites to install "SpyWare", "Stealware", "Trojans" or "Media Plugins", on your computer without your explicit permission which can then potentially forward information about your software, and your browsing and purchasing habits back to their own data collection facilities. This type of software has become collectively known as SpyWare.
Over 80% of all computers have now been infected in some way by Spyware and so we will provide you with information and access to the Tools to help you remove and detect Spyware from your PC before it can do more damage.
Most of these Adbots, or Spyware programs don’t collect specific information about you, but only report general demographics, and therefore are not stealing your name, credit card, or other personal information. But these capabilities do exist. |
| |
WHAT IS SPYWARE? |
Spyware is virtually any software which employs a person's Internet connection in the background without their knowledge or explicit permission. Silent background use of an Internet "backchannel" connection must be preceded by a complete and truthful disclosure of proposed backchannel usage, followed by the receipt of explicit, informed, consent for such use.
Any Software communicating across the Internet absent of these elements is guilty of information theft and is properly and rightfully termed: Spyware.
Another potential problem is that many are poorly written, "contain bugs or errors", and can cause problems with the normal operation of your computer. If your web-browser experiences "General Protection Faults", hangs, or freezes it may be due to one or more of these types of programme interfering with its proper function. |
| |
HOW DOES IT WORK? |
| 1: |
You for example, download what is apparently a free software utility like a screensaver. |
| |
|
| 2: |
You install the programme unaware that there are hidden capabilities included within the software. |
| |
|
| 3: |
When the programme is installed it also installs the other extra bits from certain advertising or marketing agencies. These are usually plug-ins designed for forwarding advertisements to your computer that appear when you are using it. |
| |
|
| 4: |
Even if one day you decide to delete the program you have installed, the other bits, or the Spyware, will remain on your computer, still transmitting your information and sending advertisements that you have never asked to receive. |
| |
|
| 5: |
In addition to this, Spyware will often be used to provide you with distorted search engine results in favour of websites and advertisements that “they prefer you to see” instead of the information you are really looking for. |
| |
|
| 6: |
If your PC continues to have the unwanted Spyware “injected” into it, it will gradually continue to slow down to a point where it can become virtually unusable. |
| |
|
|
THIS IS PRECISELY WHY our eBook Publications, are firstly thoroughly checked to make sure they contain no viruses, Trojans or Spyware. Secondly they do not carry any advertising whatsoever. And thirdly why we have constructed them so you do not need to install them, to use them. Finally it is also the reason why you do not need to install any other reader software to use the. When we say they are Spyware Free. We mean it ......and Guarantee it.
Despite all this it is important to remember that Anti-Virus tools are insufficient when it comes to Spyware protection and detection. |
